China (Shandong)-ASEAN Industry -University-Research Base for Vocational Education

Shandong and Ministry of Education have built China’s first ministry-province platform for vocational education in the province. 47 vocational colleges in Shandong have worked with over 10 central SOEs to build 16 overseas vocational and technical colleges (campuses) in 9 BRI participating countries. In 2021, Shandong and the Secretariat of ASEAN-China Centre jointly established Shandong (Dezhou)-ASEAN SME Alliance and Shandong-ASEAN Research Center. Riding on the strong momentum of innovative development of vocational education and relying on various cooperation platforms with ASEAN, Shandong and the Secretariat of ASEAN-China Centre will built China (Shandong)-ASEAN Industry-University-Research Base for Vocational Education, and strengthen cooperation with ASEAN countries in skills training, talent cultivation, application demonstration, outcome commercialization by holding vocational education cooperation forum, vocational college presidents forum, teacher-student skills competition, online and offline job fairs for Chinese and foreign companies, and building information release platforms, so as to create a model for China-ASEAN vocational education cooperation.
